Los Sistemas Electrónicos Digitales o, de forma más abreviada, la Electrónica Digital es una materia que se imparten en diversas titulaciones de Ingeniería y se considera básica para el conocimiento posterior de otras como la Arquitectura de Computadores, el Diseño de Circuitos Digitales o la Electrónica de Comunicaciones por citar algunas. Este libro está pensado para que estudiantes de ingeniería puedan utilizarlo como libro de texto en un curso básico de Electrónica Digital. El libro combina la teoría en la que se basan los omnipresentes sistemas digitales con la presentación de circuitos integrados que realizan funciones básicas en un sistema digital. Aunque el libro contiene ejercicios resueltos en todos los temas, estos están pensados más como un repaso de cada capítulo que como problemas complejos. Para ello los autores han elaborado otro libro de problemas y que incluye más de 100 ejercicios y problemas, de los cuales una tercera parte están resueltos.


Los autores son profesores del área de Tecnología Electrónica del Departamento de Electrónica y Telecomunicaciones de la Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea e imparten su docencia en la Escuela Superior de Ingeniería de Bilbao. 5 de ellos trabajan exclusivamente en la universidad y forman parte del Grupo de Investigación en Electrónica Aplicada (APERT) cuyas líneas de investigación son el diseño de circuitos para aplicaciones de procesado de imagen, comunicaciones, potencia y control de convertidores de energía así como circuitos reconfigurables y sistemas en un chip. El sexto autor realiza su labor investigadora en el Centro Tecnológico Robotiker-Tecnalia en la Unidad de Energía. Todos ellos imparten la asignatura de Electrónica Digital a diferentes titulaciones.
